The most common finding on CT and MRI is DIFFUSE CORTICAL ATROPHY .

BASAL GANGLIA CALCIFICATION are seen both in adults and children but more common in the latter group.

CT Findings:
1.Diffuse cortical atrophy
2.Ventricular enlargement
3.Periventricular areas  of  high attenuation

MRI T2W images axial (top) and coronal (bottom) showing cortical atrophy , dilated                                                                                       ventricles and diffuse periventricular hypetintensity

MRI Findings:
1. T2W Hyperintensity in the periventricular white matter and centrum semiovale
2. Lesions are A.Patchy in the early stages
                       B.Diffuse in the late stages
3.Dilated ventricles
4.Diffuse cortical atrophy

D/D: 1.Multiple sclerosis
         2.Small vessel disease
